Membership
The Iki Zen Association membership fee for 2026 is 120€ and entitles you to 20% discounts on event prices. In addition, you can participate in weekly sessions and free zazenkai at the Meditation Cellar in Kruunuhaka, Helsinki.
MEMBER EXPERIENCES
The breathing practice of Iki Zen resonates. I had tried several
Zen styles and visited several practice centers before Iki
Zen swept me away. The community is also warm and relaxed.

Here I understood for the first time how invaluable it is for practice to have a teacher who has already walked the path himself. The role of the other practitioners, the Sangha, for the establishing and opening up of my own practice has also begun to dawn on me.

I began meditating over 15 years ago, exploring various traditions
without forming a lasting affiliation. In 2021, I attended a
Feldenkrais
course at Ikian in Sipoo, where I also was introduced to Genpo,
Teishin,
and zazen practices. The Japanese
Zen Buddhist tradition at Ikian was
unfamiliar to me, and the impactful
recitations made a strong
impression. Subsequently, I started participating in retreats
and other
events. Initially, adapting to the tradition’s intricate
details proved challenging; however, over time, these aspects and the discipline
have become part of my practice, contributing clarity and structure.
There
is no longer a need to seek other approaches. I have
found
stability and a sense of community within this sangha
