Iki Zen ry organizes weekly zazen sessions, introductions, and zazenkai at the Meditation Cellar in Kruununhaka, Helsinki, as well as other events at the Eco Atelier in Jollas.
Iki Zen ry’s retreats and monastery-style practice are organized at Villa Selkola, on the shore of Lake Selkojärvi, in Iitti.
We are currently looking for new premises for our own meditation center. Our previous center, Ikian Zen Hermitage, was located in Kalkkiranta, Sipoo.

MAR 1st VOICE EVENT AT ECO ATELIER 2-5 PM (Note! Postponed to summer. We will announcenew date later.)
FEB 15th -APR 17th ANGO AT VILLA SELKOLA
During Ango we follow a monastic-style daily schedule, which includes zazen, chanting, simple work and free time. There is also opportunity for dokusan, i.e. personal guidance with Genpo Sensei, and occasionally a tea ceremony with a teaching talk or conversation. MAR 31st–APR 5th: APRIL SESSHIN AT VILLA SELKOLA

APR 18th ZAZENKAI AT THE MEDITATION CELLAR, 10 AM–4:30 PM
Sitting in silence all day. Zazen, teaching talk, chant and the opportunity for dokusan, i.e. personal guidance with teacher Genpo Pluta Sensei. Finally, a shared tea time. Bring your own lunch. APR 19th ZAZEN AND ANNUAL MEETING OF IKI ZEN ASSOCIATION AT THE MEDITATION CELLAR
Zazen at 10-10:40 a.m., the meeting begins at 11 a.m.
APR 25th CHILDREN'S DAY AT THE ECO ATELIER 1-4 PM
We are organizing an activity day for children at the Eco Atelier in Jollas. There will be a drum performance, music making, molding, origamis, games and stories. There will also be a clown. The event is suitable for children of all ages, for those young at heart and guardians. Likely to be the most fun event of the year. MAY 1st-2nd MAY DAY WORK DAYS AT VILLA SELKOLA

MAY 30th VESAK AT THE ECO ATELIER 11 AM-2 PM
We celebrate traditionally the birth of Buddha during the full moon in May. In the Vesak ceremony, we bathe the Buddha statue with sweet tea. We will have a relaxed celebration day. You are welcome to bring a small snack or drink to share!
JUN 4th–7th: LIGHT RETREAT AT VILLA SELKOLA
The Light Retreat is a good start for Zen practice — and in Zen, we are always beginners! In the retreat, we approach Zen practice holistically through sitting and walking meditation, sound exercises, body awareness practices, a simple tea ceremony, and dialogue. The beautiful natural surroundings provide a calming element to our presence.
The retreat is mostly held in silence, but in connection with the tea ceremony, there is a discussion period of about an hour related to the theme. Additionally, during the evening zazen, it is possible to receive personal guidance. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy the sauna and swim in the lake during the retreat.
The retreat lasts from Thursday evening to Sunday lunch. The price is €260, for members €208. We ask that you fill out the retreat application early, but no later than May 25th: CLICK HERE
The membership fee is 120 €/year. Membership entitles you to a 20% discount on event prices. If you are a student or have limited financial means, we can discuss discounts.
