Iki Zen ry organizes weekly zazen sessions, introductions, and zazenkai at the Meditation Cellar in Kruununhaka, Helsinki, as well as other events at the Eco Atelier in Jollas.
We are currently looking for new premises for our own meditation center. Our previous center, Ikian Zen Hermitage, was located in Kalkkiranta, Sipoo.

IKI ZEN CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2026
We organize zazen in the Meditation Cellar every Sunday, 10am-12pm. Autumn's Zazenkais, or full-day sittings, shall be announced closer to the date. Other events below.
JUL 31st-AUG 5th AUGUST SESSHIN AT VILLA SELKOLA

29.8. INSTRUCTION ON ZEN PRACTICE IN THE MEDITATION CELLAR, GUIDED BY GENPO SENSEI
1-5 pm. Welcome to learn about Zen practice from an experienced teacher. Program: Initial warm-up. Guidance on zazen: sitting posture and meditation practice. Walking meditation. Break. 2x20min zazen. Time for tea and conversation.

SEPT 26th MOON VIEWING PARTY AT ECO-ATELIER 6-9 PM
The moon-gazing party is a Japanese autumnal tradition where people admire the full moon. We will be organizing a moon-gazing party at Jollas' Eco Atelier. The stage is free for small-scale performances: you can e.g. play music, dance, recite poems... it is up to you. Tea and mooncakes will be served. You can also bring other food and drink if you wish.

OCT 9th-11th WEEKEND RETREAT AT LAMMI RETREAT CENTER
A short retreat that follows the daily program of a sesshin. More about retreats. Price members 108€, non-members 135€. Fill out the retreat application no later than Sept 30th: (application will be published soon).

NOV 1st ALL SAINTS DAY CEREMONY AT MEDITATION CELLAR
In connection to morning zazen, at 10am-12pm.
Membership fee is €120 /year. Membership entitles you to 20% discount on event prices. If you are a student or otherwise on a limited budget, we can also discuss other event-specific discounts.
