IKIAN ZEN HERMITAGE & MONASTIC PRACTICE
Full-time practice outside of retreats is an essential element on the path of practice. It supports us in embedding the practice into our daily lives. Focused practice is not just a “special effort” during a retreat. In a monastic environment, it is possible to continue focused, deeper being without the pressures of a strict retreat schedule.
We organize monastic-style full-day practice according to possibilites, currently in ango periods lasting a couple of months.
Iki Zen ANGO at Villa Selkola FEB 15th - APR 17th
During this full-day training period, it is possible to come and participate for as long as you want - although the sesshins are their own entities.
The daily program includes zazen, chant, work and leisure time. Breakfast and lunch in the traditional Oryoki style.
Possibility of dokusan, or personal guidance, with Genpo Pluta Sensei. There is also a tea ceremony accompanied by a teaching talk once a week.
Ango is not spent in complete silence, but the daily program supports silent practice.
Welcome to deepen your training with us!
Participation costs approximately €30/day. For longer stays, the fee will be agreed separately.
Note: during the ango sesshins are held Feb 15th-21st and Mar 31st-Apr 5th.
At these times there will be a more intensive daily program.
We will not be taking visitors on Mar 1st and Mar 6th-8th.
