"Transfer one thing from one hand to the other."

According to the Buddha, this is the first step to becoming a great being who sacrifices for others.

Like an infinitely loving mother who always gives everything to her child. Her heart is always overflowing with love.

This is the bodhisattva level we will one day reach. The process of giving can sometimes be difficult, but the peak we long to reach is not a gentle, easy climb. 

Giving in any form is the renunciation of petty, self-centered desires for the sake of our own development.

So by helping others, we help ourselves.

It is never a loss, because in great harmony, everything complements each other perfectly.

When you give naturally, where there is no gain or loss, you are in that great family harmony.
